The Swine Breeding Herd Winternship occurs during the fall semester and subsequent winter break. This is a paid internship for six undergraduate students sponsored by Purina. Students attend twelve one-hour classes during the semester and spend three Saturdays at commercial farms around the state. During winter break students work at a commercial farm for a week to gain more in-depth experience.
