Jae-Woo Kim Ph.D. Postdoc
Jae-Woo is working on construction of the long-oligo array and is also participating in the Angus project. (View CV)

Matt McClure. Ph.D. Student
Matt is currently working on the Angus project and did preliminary analysis for the Bison project. Matt has also written an Extension guide sheet for cattle producers titled Collecting Genetic Material from Beef Cattle

Jared Decker. Ph.D. Student
Jared has produced a well resolved phylogeny of horned ruminates (Pecorans) from more than 40,000 genotypes produced with Illumina's BovineSNP50 BeadChip.
Further, using the BovineSNP50 genotypes, Jared has inferred ancestral relationships between domesticated cattle breeds. He also is interested in population genetics, animal breeding, genome-wide assisted selection, the effect of population stratification on genome-wide association studies, and the search for casual mutations underlying quantitative trait loci.
Past Lab Members:

Natalya Morsci. MS Student.
Natalya worked on Quantitative Trait Loci Mapping and Candidate Gene Analysis
for Carcass Traits on Bos taurus
Chromosome 1. (Thesis)
Currently pursuing Ph.D. at the University of Wisconsin Madison

Yao Ping. M.S. Student.
Yao is currently finishing up writing his thesis where he analyzed BTA4 and 14 for associations of leptin, DGAT1 and TG SNPs with production traits in Angus.
