Online Horse Auction

Each November the MU Equine Program offers a select group of horses for sale. These horses are of various ages, and have been trained by undergraduate students in our Equine Behavior and Training class. Each horse is carefully paired with their student trainer for the entire semester.
The ultimate goal of this sale is to place horses in long term homes while providing income directly to the equine program. To achieve this mission, all horses are sold with complete medical records, and detailed daily training journals of each horse’s training journey. All horses are easy to catch, lead and tie quietly, and stand to be groomed. Weanlings will be desensitized to tack and other “scary objects”. Yearlings will carry saddle on their back and ground drive with a snaffle bit by sales time. Older horses will be quietly started under saddle and progressing as appropriate for their individual personalities.
Bidding occurs on-line so buyers know the current price and can bid accordingly. We will also be having an Open Barn Day to allow potential buyers to personally inspect our sales horses and see them being worked by their student trainer. Our 2009 auction will run from November 1st-12th, with the sale horse preview on November 7th from 10:00am-2:00pm. Bidding will close at 7:00pm on Thursday November 12th.
